Jomtien is one of the most popular districts among tourists in the Pattaya resort, located in the southern part of the resort. And the buffet style is an excellent format in Thai dining establishments, as you can try many dishes — a little bit of everything. Apa Talay Pao & BBQ Buffet (formerly known as Ninja BBQ) is one of the affordable spots in Jomtien that is definitely worth visiting.

Selection and Prices at the Buffet

The buffet in Jomtien is part of a popular chain. Like other places of this format, here you can, firstly, eat ready-to-eat delicacies, and secondly, grill raw items yourself on a separate mukata grill.

If you grill it yourself, there is no additional charge for charcoal. The base menu (meat, vegetables, and snacks) now starts from 259 THB. The extended seafood menu, which includes a grill for large shrimp and crabs, costs between 399 and 439 THB.
Note: the price is per person for a group; if you come alone, there might be a small surcharge (around 50 THB).

What’s included in this price?

First of all, it’s wonderful that at Apa Talay Pao you can enjoy a wide variety of seafood. In stores and upscale restaurants, it would cost much more. The buffet offers such a rich selection as:

  • large shrimp;
  • blue crabs;
  • cuttlefish;
  • mussels and scallops;
  • squid;
  • octopus;
  • various shellfish;
  • crab sticks;
  • several types of fish.

For this assortment, 259–399 THB is an excellent deal.

For meat lovers, there is also variety: raw beef, marinated pork, chicken, and bacon; additionally — sausages, ham, and cold cuts.

For vegetarians and healthy-eating enthusiasts:

  • tomatoes and cucumbers;
  • corn;
  • leafy greens;
  • onion and bell pepper;
  • mushrooms.

For sweets — juicy watermelons, pineapples, melons, and traditional coconut ice cream.

If you want a quick snack without spending time cooking, you can take ready-to-eat dishes like Som Tam salad, chicken nuggets, wings, or French fries; as a side — fried rice, noodles, or sushi.

The buffet price does not include drinks. A large bottle of water or soda usually costs around 40–60 THB, a bucket of ice is about 40 THB, and beer starts from 100 THB.

By the way: children under 90 cm in height can eat for free. Children up to 120 cm usually eat at a reduced price of around 120–150 THB.

General Atmosphere

The buffet is clean, and the staff is quite efficient. You can often hear good music, and Russian-language signs are still present due to the location’s popularity with tourists.

Note: the staff are very attentive to food waste; be prepared to be charged a penalty if you leave a significant amount of uneaten food (especially seafood) on your table!

Location on the Map

The address is: Jomtien Second Road, near the intersection with Chaiyapruek Street. Landmarks:

  1. The Riviera Jomtien — a massive skyscraper directly across the road from the buffet.
  2. D Varee Jomtien Beach — a hotel on the first line; the buffet is located behind it on the Second Road.
Opening hours: usually from 16:00 to 23:00 or 00:00. It’s best to arrive around 17:00 to get the freshest seafood and avoid the evening rush.

After 19:00, the place gets very busy. According to tourists, Apa Talay Pao & BBQ Buffet is still one of the best spots to eat your fill after a long day at the beach.
